The Sonata comes standard with a 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder engine that is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission with SHIFTRONIC technology. This powertrain generates up to 185 horsepower and 178 lb-ft of torque. In terms of fuel economy, this engine gets 25/36/29 (city/hwy/combined) mpg.*
You can also opt for a 1.6-liter inline four-cylinder engine with Twin-Scroll turbocharging on the Eco trim. This engine is mated to a seven-speed EcoShift dual clutch transmission, generating up to 178 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. The turbocharged engine gets up to 28/36/31 mpg.*
There is also a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine on the Sport 2.0T and Limited 2.0T trims with up to 245 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. This engine gets 21/30/24 mpg.*
The Sonata comes with refreshed styling for the 2017 model year. Standard features include the 16-inch alloy wheels, dual fold-away and heated power mirrors (body-colored), body-colored door handles, chrome trim, a rear spoiler, and a shark fin antenna.
